Italy 2019
Southern Italy is often depicted by ancient, whitewashed villages and picture-perfect beaches, yet I
found myself drawn to the country laneways strewn with wildflowers and fields in full bloom as
Spring took hold. This random chaos of nature became my inspiration as it captured what I saw as the essence of this
astoundingly beautiful region. This series of works draws from these observations and adds an element of ethereal fantasy by
evoking morning light and atmosphere through the layering process of oil on linen.
I hope to offer a contemplative experience of feeling and place.
